The purpose was to create an organization that would foster academic achievement while developing other characteristics essential to citizens in a democracy. Membership in this group is an honor but also an obligation to provide service for others. The Andale chapter is comprised of junors and seniors who have excelled in the four qualities of scholarship, leadership, character and service. Sophomores or junior students who have a 3.5 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale at the end of the third nine weeks grading period are given the opportunity to complete an information form on which they list their community and co-curricular activities, volunteer activities, leadership positions and any recognition's , awards and work experience during their high school years. An faculty advisory committee then evaluates nd selects students based on their leadership, character and service qualifications.
